Ernesto Moamba, also known as “Son of Africa”, was born on August 4, 1994, in Mozambique, in the city of Maputo. The theme of his writing is marked by the pain, despair and suffering of his forgotten Mother Africa (according to the author), a true song of lament, an ode to Africa. His literary work has been published on various national and international media networks. He is a founding member of the AMCL (World Academy of Culture and Literature), occupying Chair 21, with Cruz e Souza as Patron. He was a finalist in the Second Literary Varal Award of the Divinopolitan City Council of Letters, in Minas Gerais (BR), in the International Poetry Genre, in 1st place. Her debut book of poetry, “Liberta-te, Mãe África”, was published by Editora do Carmo (Brasília, DF). He was awarded 3rd place in the IV International Prose Competition – Machado de Assis Prize 2017, organized by the Brazil-Portugal Cultural Brotherhood (CCBP). He launched and published the children’s book “O Coelho Fugitivo: Entre a Esperteza e o Medo” (The Fugitive Rabbit: Between Cleverness and Fear) and the second edition of “Liberta-te, Mãe África” (Free Yourself, Mother Africa). Recently, he published “Free Yourself, Mother Africa” in the United States, in New York, through Underline Publishing, translated into English and, in Colombia, through Editorial Torcaza, the Spanish translation of “Libérate, Madre África” and “Liberati madre Africa” translated into Italian and published in Italy by Edizioni We. He currently has three international anthologies in which he participates as curator/organizer: Anthologia Poética Brasil-Moçambique (UESPI-NEPA, Marleide Lins); Anthologia Internacional Moçambique em Versos (Literarte Brasil, Izabelle Valladares) and Sentimentos Lusófonos (Editora Porto Lenha, Ana Ferreira). He is a member of the Circle of Mozambican Writers in the Diaspora –
– Decorated in Brazil by the OMDDH – World Organization of Human Rights Defenders with the Honorary Titles: Ambassador of Peace and Human Rights Defender, International Cultural and Social Highlight and Educational Title 2020.
– Publishes the children’s book “O Abecedário que Finge ser Mudo” (The alphabet that pretends to be mute) by Editora Fundza in Beira, Mozambique.
At the invitation of Associação Progresso, he took part in the Children’s Book Production Workshop (Project: Better Education for Teacher Training and Empowerment for Results, funded by Canadian cooperation in partnership with MINED – Ministry of Culture and Human Development), where he launched the children’s book “Jendai”.
– He is the author of recent children’s books: O Coelho e o Crocodilo às margens do rio and Abecedário que se Fingiu de Mudo, both published in Brazil-RJ, by Ibis Libris Editora under the Bisbilibisbalabás label. He published his second book of poetry entitled “O Julgamento e a Sentença” (The Trial and the Sentence) in Belém.
He was awarded the Global Poet 2022, World Poetry Anthem by the World Poetic Meetings in Texas, USA.
– Awarded the Baronesa Prize for Cultural Excellence in Brazil in the category of Outstanding International Literary and Cultural Achievement.
Ends the year 2022 as a Finalist in the Literary Prize – anonymous texts competition, 8th edition FLAL Miscelânea, 1st Place – Poetry category.
– Participated as a guest writer in the 2nd CPLP Seminar on Portuguese as a Second Language for Primary School Teachers, organized by the Government of Angola and MINEDH in Mozambique – Reading and talking to students about the children’s book “O Abecedário que pretended to be mute”.
He is President and Founding Member of the Círculo Acadêmico de Letras e Artes de Moçambique.
